Toothbrushes at apko: more than 80 models selected by pharmacists and dentists – manual, electric, sonic, interdental and specialist. You will find Elgydium, Curaprox, Curasept, Tello, Oral-B, Oclean and Swiss Smile – from a simple travel toothbrush for a few złoty to premium sonic toothbrushes.

Which toothbrush should you choose?

Start with two questions: what are your gums like, and does anything make brushing harder – braces, implants, bridges?
• Healthy gums, everyday hygiene → a soft or medium toothbrush, or an electric one.
• Sensitive or bleeding gums → an extra soft toothbrush, e.g. Curaprox CS 5460 (5,460 filaments) or Elgydium Clinic 7/100 (0.07 mm filaments).
• Fixed braces → an orthodontic toothbrush with a V-shaped bristle cut, plus interdental brushes.
• Implants, bridges, hard-to-reach areas → a single-tuft toothbrush.
• A few days after an extraction or procedure → a post-surgical toothbrush.
• Children → toothbrushes for kids matched to age: 0–2, 2–6 and 7–12 years.

Manual, electric or sonic?

A manual toothbrush used properly cleans effectively. Electric and sonic toothbrushes help when it is hard to keep the right technique and the full two minutes – they have a built-in timer, and Oral-B iO also has a pressure sensor. They differ in movement: Oral-B iO rotates a small round head, while Oclean sonic toothbrushes have an elongated head like a manual brush and vibrate at a very high frequency.

Does a hard toothbrush clean better?

No. Hard bristles combined with strong pressure irritate gums more easily and wear down enamel near the gum line. That is why we choose toothbrushes from ultra soft to medium.

How often should you replace your toothbrush?

Every 3–4 months – as recommended by the American Dental Association (ADA) – or sooner if the bristles start to splay. The same rule applies to electric toothbrush heads. Not sure where to start? The apko quiz will pick a toothbrush and the rest of your routine in a few questions.
